Virtual 3D models graphic files: guidelines and suggestions

In this section, you can find the guidelines you should follow to create a correct graphic file and generate a Packly’s 3D model in real time. Any file not properly designed may cause a wrong online preview. In particular, you will find information about: die-cut template paths, how to create and save PDF file, image settings.

Die-cut template paths

Outside bleed
The green line indicates where your artwork should be extended to improve the cutting quality.
Bleeds are required in all artwork with an image extending to one of the borders.

Cut
The blue line indicates where your artwork file will be trimmed.

Crease
The red line indicates where the box will be scored/folded.

How to create and save PDF file

After generating the diecut PDF with your own desired dimensions, open it with a vector graphic software (Suite Adobe®, CorelDRAW, Affinity Designer), without altering sizes of the worksheet: the page format must be unchanged.

We suggest using the CMYK color method. Indeed, if files or graphic files are submitted using any other color mode, such as RGB, spot colors or Pantone, they will not be visible on the 3D preview.

The graphic file must include the die-cut template. Please, never delete or edit it.

Lock the dieline’s layer without editing it in any way: it must not be moved inside the workspace, neither rotated nor resized. Upload the graphic file with the same orientation of Packly’s downloaded diecut file. Create a new layer for your graphic design and move it under Packly’s diecut layer. Realize your own graphics and save it as High-Resolution PDF (300 DPI).

To correctly view the virtual 3D model, the graphic file must be created with vector graphic software. Furthermore, the dieline of the uploaded artwork must match the model, the dimensions and the material of the box previously created. PDFs realized with different software, that means as raster format, may not be properly viewed.
